Covid was such a weird experience. Glad you were able to anticipate and protect your family. We had so many plans that year to travel, that obviously were canceled. I try not to listen to news because of the bad vibes but there may be another one out there. At least now it's not completely foreign! Loved this chapter and love your writing 🧡🧡🧡

It was the strangest of times. And, for some reason, I kind of liked it. I think I liked the simplicity of it. After being tasked in 100 directions with kids and work and my insane marriage, it felt like I finally could breathe. Although, many couldn’t actually breathe, so, I say that from my own perspective who didn’t catch COVID until late 2021 and it wasn’t awful. For those who struggled with it or died, it was a very different story for them.

I was alone through covid since my kids had already moved out and I had no partner. I met someone right before lockdown but it was a diseased relationship for other reasons. Anyway, I lost a bunch of weight from just walking, walking, walking. I loved the emptiness of the city. I loved the freedom. It was a wholly beneficial thing for me and even changed my life in amazing ways I could have never guessed when I was hired to be the only person in an abandoned office. There were still cups of coffee sitting on desks when I started. It was eerie but I loved the solitude. That job gave me everything I have today, which includes a new shoulder from being hit by a truck on my way home from work. The settlement that came a couple years later has allowed me to travel. And that’s where the real personal change happened. A string of events all beginning with covid. But it is hard to put it in that light, as you said, since so many people died and so many people have had lasting health issues because of it.

Oh….thats a good story. We all had different experiences with it. One thing for sure, none of us will ever forget it. I love that for you. It was a beginning for you. It was a realization for me. But, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t yearn for the slower and quieter days like we had back then.
